Who we are
The Funky Feet School of dance and performing arts offers the best training for all ages and abilities whether you are looking just to have fun or to be a professional performer.
Vicky Codling took over the school in 2009 from Joan Gisborne when she emigrated to Australia to be with her family.
The school has gone from strength to strength, we now offer classes in a wide range of subjects for children from the age of 2.5 right up to adults.
Our recent addition of drama to complete our full range of performing arts, recognising the importance of having a wide range of performing arts skills to succeed in the professional business.
The children have opportunities to take exams in the ISTD syllabus and the school also puts on shows that the whole school can take part in.
We run a competition team, which the children are selected to be involved in. All the children are given lots of opportunities to perform at various events through the year including the local pantomime.

Since leaving funky feet I went on to graduate from Tiffany Theatre College in 2014 where I completed a musical theatre and dance diploma. Since then I have been working as both a model and dancer in and around London. I am currently dancing with the performance group 'The IT girls' and teaching for 'One Youth Dance Company' in London. My time with Vicky was fantastic and it taught me that if you want this as a career you need to work hard and be committed. Funky Feet gives you all the tools you need to go onto vocational training which is brilliant, it's just up to you to listen, dedicate yourself and make the absolute most of all the great performance opportunities she gives to you ❤ xx

I joined the Funky Feet family when I was 7 years old in 2004. Whilst training I completed my grade work in ballet, tap and modern and also went to singing, drama and musical theatre classes, all of which were lots of fun. In 2015, after auditioning at three top dance colleges, I was lucky enough to get a scholarship for Laine Theatre Arts in London. I moved away from home at 17 and started my professional training. Whilst in my final year at Laine, I was auditioning for a long time to get a job as a dancer. The auditioning process for Musical Theatre jobs is tough and I got many no’s to jobs as well. After a while, I got a call saying I had got a job in the UK and Ireland Tour of Dirty Dancing! Touring the UK was so much fun and I had ‘the time of my life’. I am currently in the West End in Mary Poppins the Musical and I could not be more grateful to Miss Vicky and all the amazing faculty at Funky Feet for helping me achieve my dream. If I could give any advice to my Funky Feet family, it would be to never give up on your dreams. And always remember, it’s okay to fall down but if you do make sure you stand up a little bit taller.
